These musicians and their families actually did what the Stones did in a studio for The Rock and Roll Circus in 1968/ released in the 1990's. But Ronnie Lane really went out and did it! He was a real gem of a human being. Best part of the Small Faces was always watching him play his bass guitar. Wish I had been at one of these shows! Thank you Ronnie Lane....❤

Ronnie lame really was an exceptional songwriter, musician and singer. Don Arden, Sharon Osbourne’s father ripped Ronnie off so bad it’s a shame. Don managed The Small Faces and stole them blind. At this time in his life, Ronnie should have been a millionaire. It was a shame he was stricken with MS. Ronnie died much too young. Ronnie never had the chance to restore himself financially because of his declining health. RIP Ronnie Lane..

In the early 2000’s I worked as a wedding steward at Kew Gardens with a guy (sadly I’m getting old and can’t remember his name) back in the 60’s and 70’s he was a session drummer who was in Slim Chance for a while and more bands than I can remember, he ended up as A&R for CBS Records, he said Ronnie was a really nice bloke I’m almost sure he played on The Poacher he’s with them on the clip on Supersonic. Last I heard of him he’d left the company I worked for and was a full time warden at Kensington Palace

Added to your jazz blues, where you have C7alt on bar four, a guy could make it II-V (Gm C7) going to F in bar 5. As for other progressions, suggest a minor blues, such as Sunny or A Day in the Life of a Fool. Thanks for all the insights and analysis.

What a talent! What a legend! This song became so popular all over the world, even in places where people didn't even speak English! I know this because this song was a major hit, especially in Tehran, Iran in the early 70s when I was growing up (almost 10 years after its release date in 1966). My love for the English language started with songs like this. When a song becomes a global hit, you know the singer and musician/s behind it are connected to the divine. Rest in Peace, Bobby Hebb❤🙏

Always loved Plonk, and to see him turn his back on the Faces, with all the trappings to live a very comfortable life indeed, and live a simpler life with his loveable English woodcutter style of music......Well there have never been many people like that, ever, and I really admire the bloke for that. Especially with his onset of MS happening during the 1970s, it must have been so difficult living that way 👍
